Zelda

Zelda is one of the reasons I became a dog sitter.  She is my problem child - a lab mixed with a terrier.  And as they say, you cannot negotiate with terriers.  She is a loving dog but is extremely headstrong.

Now she is one of my success stories.  She still has her attitude (I never want to squash what makes each dog fun) and has done extremely well with basic obedience.  She comes when called - every time and at full speed.  She will wait until released despite having her food bowl right below her face.

Yes, I still get the face - "I know what you want, but it is just not looking good for you today" face.    She does what I ask but always with that look on her face.

My philosophy is to always use positive reinforcement and work within the personality of the dog and the needs of the family.

Layla is my demo girl! She is well trained and is good at helping other dogs overcome some issues. She has some agility training and generally acts as a momma hen to other dogs. She was a big jumper, always jumping on people. She now does a lovely dance in front of people but does not jump. I am happy with her behavior as she can let you know how much she loves you without being a pest.

Bowser is my worry wart. He thinks everything is a danger to him and me, He actually tried to guard me from the Invisible Fence when he started training with it. He would pull me away from it. Many things made him nervous. With training and learning to trust me, he now lives a comfortable life without so many worries.
